Of equal importance at the SNPJ Slovenian Heritage Center is the fact that the history of the Slovene National Benefit Society (SNPJ) is chronicled for generations to come. SNPJ has been providing its members with quality life insurance, financial services and fraternal benefits since 1904, and since its founding, the SNPJ Slovenian Heritage Center has made it a point to document SNPJ's contributions to the Slovenian cultural heritage in America over the course of the past century.
By maintaining displays on
SNPJ history, housing past issues of PROSVETA and the Voice of Youth (the
society's official publication and youth magazine, respectively), and presenting
memorabilia from SNPJ's past, the Slovenian Heritage Center has helped
keep the Slovene National Benefit Society at the forefront of Slovenian
cultural preservation in America.

Among the many items the Slovenian Heritage Center has archived, visitors will find photos and descriptions of early SNPJ proceedings, convention items and related memorabilia, and a complete collection of photographs which trace the history of the Miss SNPJ Pageant — one of the society's most treasured and time-honored traditions.
